Invisalign orthodontics are a sleeker and subtler method to straighten teeth than traditional metal braces. Clear trays are custom-fitted to your smile and gradually guide your teeth into place over time. Many patients searching Google for “Invisalign near me” will quickly find out the many benefits of Invisalign.
Crowding teeth: Teeth crowding happens when there is not enough space for the teeth in the jaw. Crowded teeth can be unsightly, jutting out or overlapping and can be difficult to clean. In rare cases tooth extraction may be necessary to resolve crowding, most often Invisalign can gradually align the teeth. Addressing overcrowding not only improves the aesthetics of your smile but can also improve your oral health. Flossing and brushing become easier and more efficient when spaces and contact between the teeth are sufficient and accessible. Gone are the days of storing your lunch leftovers conspicuously between your lower incisors.
Unevenly spaced teeth: While many people learn to adore their quirks and unique features such as a gap-toothed smile, often times uneven spacing can lead people to seek braces or Invisalign to improve the look of their smile. Many people who have previously had braces but neglected to wear their retainer experience relapse of crowded teeth or uneven spacing as an adult. Invisalign offers the unique opportunity to skip returning to your former middle school glory of a mouth full of metal while giving you a second chance at straight teeth. An improper bite resultant from shifted or misaligned teeth can also lead to jaw pain and headaches. If you’re experiencing these symptoms or simply want to fill in the gaps, Invisalign may be for you.
Overbite: Overbite refers to the position of the teeth when a person’s upper teeth gut out ahead of their lower teeth. This can lead to poor or absent contact between the upper and lower teeth, difficulty chewing and TMJ dysfunction. An overbite can also impact your side profile and smile. Many people don’t notice they have an overbite, but it can make a drastic difference in one’s appearance when corrected. Many people see after bite correction, their cheeks and face appear fuller, and their jaw/chin appears more robust and more proportionate to their face, especially from the side.
Underbite: An underbite describes when the bottom teeth protrude ahead of the top teeth. It can distort your smile and even cause headaches, jaw pain, speech problems and TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Disorders. An underbite can also affect the appearance of your face and make your chin appear protruded.
Crossbite: Your lower teeth should fit just inside of your upper teeth when you bite. If the opposite is the case, and your lower teeth fit outside of your upper teeth in your bite, it is known as a crossbite. A crossbite can cause the teeth to wear down prematurely and can make your smile appear crooked or unsymmetrical.

What are the drawbacks of Invisalign?
While you can discreetly straighten your teeth and take your trays out to eat any food you desire, Invisalign does require you to remove the trays every time you eat or drink something (other than water) and that you brush your teeth before you reinsert the trays. In the long-term, failure to remove your trays or to brush your teeth will result in cracks, chips, and discoloration of your trays. IT can also lead to the harbouring of bacteria and other oral health issues such as tooth decay. However, with attentive care, Invisalign is often a preferred, safe and aesthetic method to straighten teeth.
How much does Invisalign cost?
For minimal adjustments, Invisalign starts anywhere from $2000-$2500 and can cost up to $4500-$5500 for more comprehensive treatment. During an initial consultation, Dr. Korol Dental will evaluate each individual’s cost on a case-by-case basis to determine what extent of treatment the patient will require and the associated cost.
Can I drink hot beverages with Invisalign?
While you can drink water with Invisalign in, drinking hot beverages such as coffee or tea will cause the aligner trays to stain and discolour. It is recommended to remove your aligners when drinking coffee or tea and ideally brush your teeth before putting the trays back in.
