- Step 5 - Teeth Whitening After-Care: Your dentist will advise you to avoid foods and beverages that have a high level of pigment such as coffee, tomato juice, red wine and tobacco use for at least 24 hours after the procedure. This is important as it gives the enamel pores enough time to close and prevents any re-staining.
